Bath In Quarantine

Bath is a bustling city in the South-West of England. Drawing visitors in from all over the world due to its Roman roots and Georgian architecture, Bath is one of the most visited cities in the UK- and is otherwise known to me as 'home'.

The city usually attracts more than 348 thousand visitors a year, but since the Corona virus has ground the entire world to an uncertain standstill, Bath has emptied. The city that I have only ever known as busy and overcrowded is abruptly, overwhelmingly silent.

Since the lockdown restrictions in England relaxed slightly, I took an early morning walk into the city to capture Bath in this strange, paused period of life.

It was oddly surreal walking around an empty city and finding everything closed and shut down but I also found it a strangely peaceful experience. It has also given me greater appreciation for what a beautiful city I am lucky enough to call home.
